We recently completed this cabinet refinishing pro

We recently completed this cabinet refinishing project for a great client.
-
It was a total transformation of the space. Our client upgraded the hardware on these cabinets so we filled the old holes with a 2part epoxy. We then measured and drilled the holes for the new hardware.
-
Like all great coating systems we started with extensive cleaning and sanding. We then applied a coat of isolator followed by a high build primer with filling and sanding between coats. We then applied two topcoats of an incredibly durable two part coating.

Step one of any good paint job is site protection.

This room is getting @finepaintsofeurope Hollandlac Eggshell on all surfaces. The ceiling is peeling and needs a fair amount of scraping, sanding and skim coating. This makes a mess and having a well protected area helps us work quickly and efficiently.

Once the prep is all completed we will be spraying the walls and trim and rolling the ceiling. Having a well masked area makes spraying less stressful and much easier.

Our clients son is graduating from his crib to a bed. He wanted an orange bed so we used @finepaintsofeurope Eco Brilliant in BM Rust.

Once it’s cured this paint job will be very durable and will do it’s best to resist all the abuse the little guy can throw at it!

These doors make for the perfect entrance to this

These doors make for the perfect entrance to this incredible home.
We originally painted these 10’ tall solid mahogany doors 2 years ago for @cindystumpobuilder.

These massive doors took hundreds of hours to complete. Unfortunately the movers damaged them so we get the opportunity to repaint the entire thing.

It’s an honor and a privilege to get to work on

It’s an honor and a privilege to get to work on projects like this historic door restoration.

This door is original to the house and had see better days. There were all sorts of bandaid type repairs as well as massive amounts of caulking that had to be taken off. We had to disassemble pieces of molding to properly remove it all.

Step one was having @classicdoorllc fit the new hardware, fix the metal interlocking weather stripping and adjust the door to better fit the opening.

We then removed the door and @bannonbuilds installed a temporary door in its place.
-
We then used a combination of chemical and manual paint stripping. Once we were down to bare wood we applied @c2guard clear wood preservative. This treats the wood so that it can absorb moisture, and is cheap insurance again paint failure.

The next step was using a 2 part filler to fill large gaps and imperfections. We then applied 6 coats of primer with spot filler being applied and sanded smooth between coats.

Once we had a sound substrate that was smooth and flat we could apply two coats of @finepaintsofeurope Hollandlac Brilliant for extreme durability and beauty.

A beautiful but most important incredibly long las

A beautiful but most important incredibly long lasting paint job!

This amazing home is a few hundred yards from the ocean so the paint job takes a beating. The previous painters’ job only lasted a couple years due to inferior quality paint and improper application. We expect ours to last much longer. 10 years is not unreasonable. While I’m sure our upfront cost is significantly higher, the cost per year is much lower. We are confident using FPE is the best value for our clients.

We did extensive preparation followed by @finepaintsofeurope primer and two coats of Eco Brilliant. This is the longest lasting exterior house paint on the market. With all the labor involved in a project like this, using the best paint and getting a longer life out of the paint job is a no brainer!

How beautiful is this!

It might not look good to everyone but to me a well masked off space like this is a beautiful thing. Masking is the first step in a kitchen cabinet refinish process. We cover ever surface not being painted so when we spray we don’t damage anything.

This process is labor intensive but essential. @drew_zkpainting and Jesse did a great job here. Usually we mask the inside of the boxes but in this case the interiors are being painted.
